PLEASE NOTE:  On April 1, 2012, the OEER and OETR Associations amalgamated to become the Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia (OERA). As a part of this amalgamation, the Offshore Energy Research Web Portal will be rebranded.  Please accept our apologies if you are having problems opening the current site. The new website address for OERA will be www.oera.ca and we are hoping to have it up and running in the not to distant future.

Welcome to the Web Portal for the Offshore Energy Research Associations

The OEER Association (Offshore Energy Environmental Research) and OETR Association (Offshore Energy Technical Research) were established in March 2006, with funding from the Nova Scotia Provincial Government. OEER members are St. Francis Xavier University, Acadia University, Cape Breton University and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, while OETR members are Dalhousie University, Saint Mary's University and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy.

Our goal is to fund offshore energy environmental and geoscience research and development in order to maximize Nova Scotia's offshore energy resource potential and to gain understanding about the potential implications of offshore energy research and development on the marine environment.

Please register as a member on our web portal. As a registered member, you will be put on our contact list for future OEER and/or OETR news and upcoming events, have an opportunity to participate in our online discussion forums and enroll in events.
