Georges Bank Data Reprocessing
In preparation for decisions regarding a review of the Georges Bank moratorium on petroleum activities, OETR is funding research to process seismic field data acquired over Georges Bank in the 1980’s. The processing will improve the quality of the data, and assist governments in having a clearer picture of petroleum resource potential on Georges Bank.
OETR has released two Invitations for Commercial Proposals for the processing and interpretation of this data.

Archiving 2-D/3-D Seismic Dataset Offshore Nova Scotia
In 2007-2008, OETR awarded $311,600 to Kelman Technologies Inc. to archive the Scotia Shelf 2-D and the Penobscot 3-D seismic datasets (see Figures 1 and 2) as well as reprocessing of the Penobscot 3-D dataset, acquired just north of Sable Island along the northern portion of the Jurassic Age carbonate bank. In July 2008, Kelman Technologies Inc. completed the reprocessing of an additional 695 km of 2-D data.
